The final five for the Colts competition appears to be complete after the round twelve fixtures, but positions within the top five are anything but settled with top spot, along with third place and the double chance also up for dispute with six rounds remaining.
Augusta Margaret River defeated Eaton Boomers by fifty points on Saturday, keeping the Hawks in third place on the table.
In a much closer affair, South Bunbury downed Collie Eagles by ten points at JE Hands Memorial Oval in very wet conditions, killing off the challenge by the Eagles to make the five.
Harvey Brunswick Leschenault took three quarters to shake off a highly competitive Carey Park at Kelly Park with Zavier Williams kicking five goals, in the 39 point win.
Busselton easily accounted for Harvey Bulls, but wasteful kicking by the Magpies stopped the victors from a bigger victory.
Top of the table Bunbury didn’t kick into gear until the second half, with an under-manned Donnybrook doing a great job to keep the margin to 73 points.
This weekend Busselton and Augusta Margaret River will play on Saturday evening after the WAFL Match, with the match scheduled to start at 5.00pm. This will be a great match, with the winner having third place all to themselves.
In other matches, Harvey Brunswick Leschenault and South Bunbury will do battle at Brunswick Oval on Sunday, in another top five clash. Harvey Bulls and Carey Park will also play at Harvey, with both teams currently on three wins.
