Donnybrook kicked eleven goals to two after half time, to account for Harvey Bulls in the opening game of round fourteen of the SWFL.
Donnybrook who won last week with five goals, kicked five in the opening term on Saturday afternoon, with Jace Cormack kicking accurately from the pocket at the three minute mark. Two minutes later Sam Lowrie kicked his first of the afternoon, and things were started to look ominous for the Bulls . Duncan Davis took a good mark and converted as the Bulls started to get plenty of the ball. Jace Cormack snapped a great goal on the run deep in the pocket to extend the margin, however Davis marked and goaled again to keep the Bulls in touch. Lowrie would then kick two goals in a minute to have the home team up by nineteen points at the first change.
Zac Trigwell kicked his first ever senior goal to start proceedings in the second quarter which was followed shortly after by another Sam Lowrie goal, as the margin crept passed thirty points. Edward Dann threaded the eye of the needle to kick the Bulls third after an intercept from a wayward kick in, as the Bulls started to apply plenty of pressure. The Bulls should have been much closer missing two very easy shots at goal, one which went out on the full from fifteen metres out. Eventually they would be punished with goals to Lee Lucev and Jace Cormack late in the quarter, as the Dons went into half time twenty seven points ahead.
After half time though it would be one way traffic, with the Bulls unable to score in the third quarter as the Dons dominated. The final term the Dons piled on the goals, kick seven for the term, and luckily for the Bulls the Dons also kicked eight behinds, otherwise the score line could have been much worse. The Bulls never gave up, but the Dons were just two strong and have moved to second place on the ladder.
The Dons will play Harvey Brunswick Leschenault at Brunswick next Sunday in a top of the table clash, while Harvey Bulls will host Eaton Boomers on Saturday.
