Harvey Brunswick Leschenault have prevailed in a tough Second Semi Final in the South West Football League at Brunswick Oval on Sunday afternoon, before a big crowd in glorious weather conditions.
Despite those conditions, scoring was low, so low it was the equal second lowest score for a winning team in the Second Semi Final in History, only eclipsed by Donnybrook’s win in 1968 when they kicked 7.9.51.
Scores were tight all day, with Eaton leading at quarter time by three points, the Lions led by four points at half time, with the margin 13 points at the final change. Eaton kicked the opening goal of the final quarter with nothing separating the two teams until a free kick 40m out to Jesse Crichton who duly converted, with the final margin eleven points.
