Donnybrook Football and Sporting Club will play its 500th League Game at VCMP oval.
The first SWFL game was played on 29 June 1969, Round 10 – Donnybrook v Bunbury when Donnybrook 14.11.95 def Bunbury 8.13.61. In 1969 the Donnybrook Bridgetown Mail covered the opening of VC Mitchell Park by emphasizing the project as “a major community infrastructure triumph, highlighting the collaborative effort between local government and volunteers while honoring the ground’s namesake, Valentine Charles Mitchell”.

Celebrations reaching this 500th game milestone will include a guard of honor for the league team by past players, Auskick half time games, guests of honor will be members of the 1969 teams, auction item and plenty of stories to be told will make for a great day at the club. This milestone gives all DFC players additional incentive to bring home the wins on the day. For the record, Donnybrook have played 496 home and away matches and three finals at the ground, winning 260, losing 236, with three draws.
Prior to the 1969 match, Donnybrook played home matches at Egan Park, where they played 106 matches.
