Big Second Half Sees Panthers Home

Carey Park have defeated Collie Eagles at the Collie Recreation Ground on Saturday afternoon by 72 points, with the Panthers kicking ten goals to one after half time.

After an enterprising first quarter, the Panthers took a 14 point lead into the quarter time break.  The Eagles fought back at the beginning of the second quarter, taking it right up to Carey Park, with the home team leveling the scores at 28 a piece at the ten minute mark of the second quarter.

From that point on, Carey Park would kick twelve of the final thirteen goals of the match, with Harley Sparks, Kelvin Lawrence, Ryan King and Bryce Fiorentino all playing well, with Lawrence in particular playing well, kicking four goals for the second week in a row.

The young Eagles had no answers for Carey Park who had winners all over the ground, and consolidated their position in the top five heading into the Nutrien Ag bye.
