Busselton will host Harvey Brunswick Leschenault in a genuine blockbuster on Saturday afternoon at Sir Stewart Bovell Park, in round eighteen of the Dale Alcock Homes South West, South West Football League season.
The match has numerous ramifications depending on the result, with second placed Busselton looking to move back to top spot with an unblemished record. A win will elevate Busselton ahead of Bunbury who have the bye, having lost just the one game to Busselton at the beginning of the season. However, if the Lions were to win, Bunbury would retain top spot, and Harvey Brunswick Leschenault could solidify third place. Should the Lions lose, Donnybrook, who play Eaton on Sunday would move into third place, demoting the Lions back to fourth, equal on points with the Dons and South Bunbury, should they beat Carey Park.
With so many ramifications, the key objective is to win, with Busselton fresh after a bye, while the Lions were big winners over Eaton and the week previous defeated South Bunbury, so they will go into the contest full of confidence, but beating Busselton in Busselton will be no easy achievement. The two pronged attack of Liam Creighton and Ryan Ekert up forward, became a trio again in round sixteen when Busselton last played, with the return of Mitch Cameron from a long term injury, strengthening an already strong forward line.
The Lions are playing great football though, with many of their players in great form, including Connor Carbone, Ty Anderson, Jesse Crichton, Zavier Williams and Robbie Turnbull, making for an intruiging contest.
