Boomers Defeat Dogged Sharks

Eaton have defeated Dunsborough in game three of gather round at the Collie Recreation Ground on Saturday afternoon, as part of round twenty two of the Optus Women’s competition.

Despite being down on personnel, the Sharks took it right up to Eaton with scores level at quarter time.

Eaton took control of the second quarter with Melissa Garlett kicking two goals as the Boomers took a twelve point lead to half time. Brooke Newman kicked a good goal to extend the margin further, despite some good tackles and plenty of intensity from the Sharks, led by Shelby Foster and Olivia Caldow.

The Sharks got some reward for effort in the final term with a goal to Maya Goudard, who converted from the goal line after a fifty metre penalty.   Eaton eventually would take the win by 17 points.

The Boomers will face a tough assignment in round fifteen when they play Harvey Bulls, while Dunsborough will host South Bunbury.
