Boomers Take On Lions At Glen Huon

Eaton will host Harvey Brunswick Leschenault on Sunday afternoon at Glen Huon Reserve, in round eighteen of the Dale Alcock Homes South West Premiership Season.

Eaton are coming off a 65 point loss to Bunbury last Sunday, while Harvey Brunswick Leschenault are coming off a loss to Augusta Margaret River, in a match the Lions will look at as a lost opportunity after kicking very inaccurately.

The Boomers have not won at home since round nine against Carey Park, with a kick after the final siren seeing them home by five points, but that has also been their last victory.  Harvey Brunswick Leschenault dominated their match against the Hawks last Saturday for the most part, but their kicking for goal let them down badly, converting only five of twenty scoring shots.

The incentive for Eaton is great despite being on the bottom of the ladder.  If they were to win, and Collie lose, they would jump out of last place, demoting Collie back to the wooden spoon position.

HBL who finished ninth last season, look destined to finish eighth this season, and with winnable matches against Dunsborough and Collie to come, the Lions could win seven games, should they get over the Boomers.

In the absence of Jarrod Humphries, Zac Piper has been a focal point up forward for the Lions and has been playing well and will need to be guarded closely by the the Boomers.  Meanwhile, Greg Humphries (pictured), is arguably one of the best kicks in the competition and has had an outstanding individual season, and will also need plenty of attention if the Lions are to take the four points.
