Boomers To Host Hawks At Glen Huon

Eaton will host Augusta Margaret River on Saturday afternoon at the Glen Huon Reserve, in round sixteen of the SWFL season, with both teams desperate to clinch the four points.

The last time the two teams met the Hawks defeated the Boomers by 59 points at Gloucester Park, but plenty of things have changed since then, with the Hawks injury and unavailability list well documented.

The Hawks played their best game in the last month against Carey Park last Sunday, and despite losing, showed some of the play that the Hawks are renowned for.  Kyle Anderson and Tom Shanahan return this week for the Hawks and will add some depth and experience.

Eaton were beaten by 58 points by Harvey Bulls last Saturday, with Josh Bowe and Paul Rinder, along with Karl Collard having particularly good games.   The Boomers have lost the last five matches against the Hawks, with their last win being 29 August 2020, when the Boomers won by 33 points, with the Hawks looking to extend that winning streak on Saturday.

A win to the Boomers will keep them away from potentially dropping to last on the ladder, and also an opportunity to move to ninth at the expense of Dunsborough, who so happen to play eleventh placed Collie.  Should Collie win and Eaton lose, Eaton will drop to the bottom of the ladder, giving the Boomers some motivation to win, along with to win for Bailey Hill who plays his 50th game for the club.
