Boomers To Take On Hawks In Crucial Clash

The Eaton Boomers will host Augusta Margaret River this Saturday at Glen Huon Reserve, with both teams desperate for the four points, in the opening game of round sixteen of the Dale Alcock Homes South West, SWFL Season.

The Boomers and Hawks fought out a thriller at Gloucester Park earlier in the season, with the Hawks getting up in the dying stages by five points.  The Boomers were 2-0 at that stage, but have struggled since, though they are still in the hunt for fifth place, a fight they share Harvey Bulls along with current holders Donnybrook.

Meanwhile the Hawks have lost just three games for the season, twice to Busselton and once to South Bunbury, and are now eyeing of top spot, currently held by South Bunbury.  The venue holds no fear for the Hawks who downed the Boomers by 82 points at Glen Huon in Round 16 last season.

The Boomers are capable of causing an upset and will need to play their best football to do so, which will start in the middle of the ground, with Mitch Kings and Greg Humphries two players the Hawks will need to watch, while Joel Houghton will be looking for a big match in front of goals.  Houghton three times this season has kicked three goals, and the Boomers will be hoping for at least that many from their forward this Saturday.

The Hawks will be without Sam Lewis and Beau Morgan for the match after the Hawks fiery clash with Donnybrook, but the premiers have plenty of players that will need to be curtailed if the Boomers are to cause an upset win in front of the faithful fans.
