Bulldogs Take The Points In Collie

Bunbury defeated the Collie Eagles on a warm Saturday night at the Collie Recreation Ground by 33 points, in front of a healthy crowd in round four of the Dale Alcock Homes South West, SWFL season.

Bunbury got off to a fast start kicking four goals to one, with Matt Martin and Joel Houghton causing plenty of issues up forward for the Collie defence.

Collie rallied in the second quarter kicking three goals with Ben Higgs finding the major opening, as the home team trailed by 32 points at the main break.

The third quarter would be a stale mate as Collie defended well with Bunbury kicking the only goal and to Collie’s credit they went goal for goal with Bunbury in the last quarter, with both teams kicking four goals, with the final margin being 39 points.

Matt Martin and Joel Houghton were the main difference up forward, kicking eight goals between them with Martin now having 14 goals to his name from three matches.  Denholm King and Peter Woods played well for the Bulldods, while Cameron Davidson and Teale DeAngelis continued their good form for the Eagles.

Bunbury will host the red hot Busselton in round five at Payne Park on Sunday, 30 April 2023, while Collie will travel to Dunsborough.
