Bulls Claim First Win Of The Season

Harvey Bulls have won their first match of the season, when they defeated Eaton at Glen Huon Reserve on Sunday afternoon, in round four of the Dale Alcock Homes South West premiership season.

The story of the day, apart from the fact the Bulls won their first game, was Jordan Strahan who was simply brilliant for the Bulls, kicking nine or the teams eleven goals.  Strahan showed a week earlier against Bunbury what he was capable of, kicking four goals in a quarter, but at Glen Huon it was a four quarter performance to be clearly the best player on the ground.

After an even start, the Bulls dominated the second and third quarters kicking eight goals to one, to lead by 39 points at the final break.  To Eaton’s credit they never gave up, kicking four last quarter goals to be defeated by 23 points.

Ryan Lester-Smith and Camden McGillivray played good games for the Bulls, while Paul Rinder and Greg Humphries continue to be Eatons benchmark, again playing well.

The Bulls are now off the bottom of the ladder, and are now ninth, while Eaton are eight, with seven teams from Carey Park in fifth, to Collie at the bottom of the ladder all on four points.   Harvey will host South Bunbury next Saturday evening, while Eaton will travel to Busselton on Saturday afternoon.
