Harvey Bulls simply have to win on Sunday against Donnybrook to keep their season alive, in round seventeen of the Dale Alcock Homes South West, Premiership Season, when the two teams clash at Harvey Oval.
The Bulls sit in sixth place, six points behind fifth placed Bunbury with both teams having had the bye, and both clubs have six matches to play. But if Harvey don’t win on Sunday, the chances of making the final five will be remote.
The Bulls have a very tough run home playing all five teams in the top five in the final six weeks, but the team are almost back to full strength, and if they are to make the finals and be a threat, beating those teams is a must. Bunbury who they are trying to topple to make the five, have Dunsborough (drew last round), Donnybrook, AMR, South Bunbury and a last round match against Harvey after this weekends match with Eaton.
The Bulls last match a fortnight ago saw the home side way too strong for Eaton, and a week prior to that, easily defeat the Hawks. Fresh from the bye, the Bulls will throw everything at Donnybrook who have also been in good form, downing the Lions by 48 points in the last round, while in round fifteen, despite losing to Busselton, pushed the undefeated side all the way.
Sunday’s clash promises to be a great match, with their only being one option for the Bulls – win. Donnybrook though, have the same incentive. A top two spot and a home final beckons if they can account for Harvey, with three tough matches to come, facing Carey Park, Bunbury and South Bunbury in a three week block. The ramifications make for a ripper contest which commences at 3.00pm
Colts 9.45am, Reserves 11.40am, Women’s 1.30pm, League 3.00pm
