Bulls No Match For Dons

Donnybrook have defeated Harvey Bulls by 91 points at Boyanup Oval in round six of the Dale Alcock Homes South West, SWFL premiership season, in a one-sided contest.

The Bulls would be without Dylan Marino from the two minute mark of the opening quarter with an elbow injury, as Sam Perkusich opened the goal scoring, shortly followed by another, this time from Zac Trigwell.  When Perkusich snapped his second at the twelve minute mark, signs were ominous for the Bulls.   A defensive error gave the Bulls a late goal to Evan Hill, with the home side 12 points in front at the first change.

After that time it was one way traffic.  Cooper Clarke-Dehring had a purple patch in the second quarter kicking three goals in five minutes, while Zac Trigwell would kick another.

The margin at half time was 37 points, but the third quarter saw the Dons kick six more unanswered goals, with Clarke-Dehring kicking his fifth from long range, as the Bulls still had their quarter time score of 1.2.8.

With the contest over, the Bulls did kick three goals in four minutes midway through the final term Hayze Griffthis and Heath Scurria converting, but Ben Frazer put the icing on the cake with a snap out the pack at the Southern End, to close out a very one-sided match.

Ben Howlett had numerous possessions early, but Clayton Giblett was everywhere, as was Jacob Kendle, who were amongst the best on the ground.

The Dons had nine goal scorers, with Clarke-Dehring and Zac Trigwell kicking eight between them.  The Dons face Busselton next Saturday evening, while the Bulls will host Augusta Margaret River next Saturday afternoon,  who were even bigger winners today over Collie.

Donnybrook also retained the Hickman Cup for another year, which was presented post match.
