Bulls Take Victory In Late Charge

The Tronox Women’s competition was treated to a high quality thriller at Harvey Oval on Saturday afternoon, when the Harvey Bulls played Bunbury.

The Bulldogs totally out-classed the Bulls in the first quarter but inaccurate kicking kept the Bulls in the match, with Daisy Rigby a live-wire in the forward line for the Bulldogs.

The Bulls fought back in the second quarter, narrowing the margin to seven points, with Rachel Wright, Trinity Brown and Sierraleone Simpson getting plenty of the ball.

A tough and tight third quarter saw Daisy Rigby kick a good goal to give the visitors a two goal advantage going into the final term.

An injury mid way through the final quarter saw the match stopped as Simpson went to ground at half back for the Bulls.  After a delay the match resumed with the Bulls trailing by 10 points.   The Bulls kicked two late goals to snatch the victory in a great game of football.

Kloe Bassett, Melinda Bobby and Meg Nani had plenty of the ball for Bulldogs, while Trinity Brown, Rachel Wright and Emma Faulkner dominated for the Bulls.

In other matches, South Bunbury had a convincing win over Donnybrook, who played their first game of the season on Sunday at Boyanup Oval.  The Tigers won by 31 points kicking seven goals, with Mikayla Balloch kicking three goals, with Yana Guretti playing a good game..  In Dunsborough, the Sharks kept Harvey Brunswick Leschenault scoreless, and Dunsborough remain undefeated at the top of the ladder.  Claudia Duane kicked two goals along with Ellen Read, Isabella Suleski and Shelby Foster amongst the Sharks best.
