Bunbury Down Boomers At Payne Park

It was close for three quarters, but the Bulldogs would run away with the victory in the final term, defeating the Eaton Boomers by 47 points at Payne Park on Sunday before a healthy crowd.

Bunbury started much the better kicking four unanswered goals in the opening term, but when Brandon Jetta goaled at the 18 minute mark of the second quarter the margin was reduced to 16 points, with not one goal kicked to the Southern end of the ground in the first half.

Both teams managed a goal in the third quarter before Bunbury kicked away in the last to record a comfortable victory, keeping them in third place on the ladder, while the Boomers will now very much need to rely on other results including upsets to be able to make the finals.

Jesse Gribble and Dylan Heasman continue to get plenty of possessions and were amongst the best players, while Brandon Rhodes and Tom Shanahan played well for the Boomers.
