Bunbury Into Women’s Decider

Bunbury will face Busselton in the Optus Women’s Grand Final next Sunday after they defeated Harvey Bulls in a hard fought contest at Kelly Park on Sunday afternoon in front of a big crowd.

The Bulls started brilliantly with Emma Faulkner kicking a goal in the opening minutes but Daisy Rigby goaled soon after to put the Bulldogs back in front.  An excellent transference of play late in the quarter saw Faulkner take a tremendous mark, converting the opportunity, which would see the Bulls lead at quarter time.

The second quarter belonged to Nakia Jilley, who kicked two goals, replicating what she did against the Bulls two weeks ago in the qualifying final.  The Bulldogs would lead by eight points at the main break.

The third quarter was a tough contest with some end to end play from both teams, with both defensive lines on top.

Jilley kicked her third goal midway through the final term to seal the contest, and set up a rematch with Busselton, who won last years Grand Final by one point over the Bulldogs.   The Bulls were gallant in defeat, with Rebecca Fry, Trinity Brown and Krystal Carter having great games.
