Bunbury Looking For Top Three Finish

Bunbury will be looking for a top three finish, when they play Eaton on Sunday afternoon at PC Payne Park in round twenty of the Dale Alcock Homes South West, South West Football League season.

Bunbury currently sit fourth on the ladder, just 0.51 percent behind third placed Carey Park, who play the Collie Eagles on Saturday afternoon.

The Bulldogs will know the scenario required to move back to third placed based on the result, which maybe as simple as defeating Eaton should Collie defeat Carey Park.   But should the Panthers win, the calculators will be on hand to work out how much the Bulldogs need to win by to reclaim third place and play in a Qualifying Final.

The last time the two sides met, Bunbury had to overcome a slow start to defeat the Boomers 58-27.    The same scoreline would take the Bulldogs percent to 130.5, enough to overhaul Carey Parks 128.70, but should the Panthers percentage go up with a big win, Bunbury will need to win by even more than the 31 points they did last round.

With so much to play for, Bunbury wouldn’t want to let this game slip, after playing great football in the first half of last weeks Derby, which had the Tigers on the ropes.  Meanwhile Eaton will be looking to spoil the party, and finish on a high note of their own, with a win potentially elevating the Boomers to eighth.

The League match commences at 3.00pm.
