Bunbury Too Strong For Lions

Bunbury have won their twelvth straight match after defeating Harvey Brunswick Leshenault on Saturday afternoon at PC Payne Park, in round fifteen of the Dale Alcock Homes South West, South West Football League season.

After Aidan Clarke kicked the opening goal for the Bulldogs in the opening minute, the Lions gained the upper hand with Jack Fletcher and Jesse Crichton kicking quick goals to put the Lions in front.  Bunbury had a battle on their hands, and they responded with goals to Baiden Parsons and Kye Wright, which led to Bunbury leading by four points at quarter time.

From there Bunbury would constrict the opposition, with Bunbury kicking four goals to one in the second term, leading by twenty five points at Half Time.

Three unanswered goals in the third quarter took the margin to seven goals, with Aidan Clarke and Jack Gouce getting plenty of the football.

When Harry Creasey kicked a goal with ten minutes remaining, the margin had extended to sixty points, the largest of the match.  The Lions kicked three late goals, but the damage had already been done, with the final margin 46 points.

The Lions will have a fortnight to regroup before hosting South Bunbury in round sixteen, while Bunbury will head to Collie to take on the Eagles.
