Bunbury Win Preliminary Final

Bunbury have defeated Collie Eagles in this afternoons SWFL Preliminary Final at Hands Memorial Oval before a big crowd, with the Bulldogs advancing to the Grand Final to take on Busselton next Sunday.

Bunbury won the toss and kicked with the breeze in the first quarter, kicking four goals to one, and when they kicked the first goal of the second quarter, it was not looking good for the Eagles.  But as they have done all season, they Eagles fought back, getting within six points in the second quarter, before trailing by nine points at the main break.

The third quarter which is the premiership quarter, proved to be yet again, with the Bulldogs kicking five goals to one, to open up a very handy 34 point lead.  The Eagles to their credit never gave up, winning the final quarter, but there would be no last quarter heroics this week, losing by 27 points.

Cam Lamonica and Harry Creasey along with Jordan Adamson-Holmes were dominant, kicking eight goals between them, while Hayden Yarran and Joel Houghton kicked three goals a piece for the Eagles.

Harry Creasey was dominant all across the ground, and along with King and Gribble, the Bulldogs ran the Eagles off their feet in the second half.  Matt Michael and Matt Blackford were key defenders for Collie and never stopped trying all day.
