Busselton Continue, Tigers Season Over

Busselton were way too good in today’s SWFL Elimination Final at Sir Stewart Bovell Park, easily defeating South Bunbury by 59 points.

It was the highest score in an Elimination Final since 2013, and no team has kicked seventeen goals in an Elimination Final since 2008, as the Magpies kicked five goals in the first, second and fourth quarters.

The opening term set up the victory, with Busselton keeping the Tigers to two behinds, and had a forty point lead at the main break. A dour

third term saw both teams kick two goals each, before the game opened up in the final term with the result beyond doubt.

Liam Creighton kicked five goals for the second time this season while Mitch Howlett and Aidan Fraser both kicked three goals each, with Jaxon East joining Creighton amongst the best on the ground.  Shaun Crane again was in the best players for the Tigers who bow out of the finals race.

Busselton will await the loser of Bunbury and Harvey Brunswick Leschenault who play in the Qualifying Final on Sunday.
