Busselton Host Collie On Saturday

Busselton will take on the Collie Eagles this Saturday at Sir Stewart Bovell Park in a must win match for the Magpies who need plenty of luck to fall their way if they are to advance to the qualifying final.

In a shock loss to Donnybrook two weeks ago, the Magpies need to hope that Bunbury lose all three of their remaining matches to Donnybrook, South Bunbury and Augusta Margaret River for the black and whites to finish third, which starts with them beating Collie on Saturday.

In the corresponding fixture earlier in the season, the Magpies won by a solitary point in Collie, and the Eagles are more than capable of causing another upset on Saturday evening.

Mitch Howlett, Jed Kemp and Liam Creighton are three players the Eagles will need to watch closely, all capable of kicking multiple goals in a match.  The Eagles best chance of victory will be to shut down Busseltons midfield which will be no easy task with a host of players capable of big possession games with Mitch Tenardi and Damian Lee having excellent seasons.

Collie is a very young side, with a blend of experience with Adam Bignell being one of those, and was a pivotal part in their win against Carey Park and their draw against Eaton Boomers.  Shaquille McKenzie and Paul Rinder will also be players the Magpies will need to watch closely.

Match Times:  Colts 12.40pm, Reserves 2.35pm, League 4.30pm
