Busselton Win A Close One At Home

Busselton have won their third game of the season after defeating Donnybrook on Sunday afternoon, before on the biggest crowds of the season, at Sir Stewart Bovell Park.

The crowd were treated to a great game, with plenty of goals and plenty of excellent passages of play throughout the match.

Both teams kicked four goals each in the opening term in an entertaining opening quarter with Donnybrook holding a slender lead.  The second quarter had more goals than the first with Jed Kemp, Beau Chinnery and Liam Creighton all hitting the score sheet as did Zac Trigwell and Jeff Smith for Donnybrook, as the home team took a sixteen point lead into half time.

With seventeen goals kicked in the first half, the game tightened up in the second half, with just seven goals in the final two quarters.  Busselton’s accuracy kept them in front, as they prevailed by eight points in an excellent game of football.

Damian Lee played his best game of the season, while Mitch Tenardi played another good game with Jake Anderson and Jeff Smith amongst the best for the Dons.

Busselton will play Collie this Sunday in Collie, while Donnybrook will host the top team, Bunbury on Saturday in a must win fixture for the Dons to stay in the hunt for the top five.
