Can The Tigers Win Three In A Row

South Bunbury will be looking to do what has only been done twice before, and that is to win three consecutive premierships, when they start their 2026, Dale Alcock Homes South West, South West Football League season next Saturday.

Only Harvey Brunswick Leschenault (1990-1992) and Donnybrook (1998-2000) have been able to win three in a row in the SWFL, with the Tigers starting there season with a match at Hands Oval against Dunsborough on Saturday, 21 March 2026.

Expectations at Tigerland are high, and after a strong preseason, the Tigers are looking forward to the challenge ahead.

“The season has come around quickly, but we’ve had a really strong preseason”, said League Coach Julian Burgess.  “The boys have returned in great condition and have put in a lot of hard work over the last few months, which has been really pleasing to see as a coaching group”, he added.

“Our expectations are the same as always — to be competitive every week and to enjoy playing our football. One thing we’re particularly proud of this year is the number of younger players we’re bringing through. The club has put a lot of work into developing our youth, and it’s exciting to see them getting their opportunity at this level”, Burgess said.

“The South West competition is always tough and there are no easy games. From what we’ve seen, every club has recruited well again this year, so we’re expecting a very even and competitive season.  We’re looking forward to the challenge and getting the season underway”.

After the Sharks in round one, the Tigers will host Busselton in a Grand Final rematch, after their epic one point win in last years thrilling decider.  After the Easter break, the Tigers will host Donnybrook also at Hands Oval.
