Carey Park will be looking to maintain second place, when they play Eaton at Kelly Park on Saturday evening, in round twenty of the Dale Alcock Homes South West, premiership season.
The Panthers have won their last nine games, with the last team to defeat Carey Park being Eaton with a goal after the siren at Glen Huon. Since then, the Panthers winning streak has seen them take all before them, while Eaton have fallen to the bottom of the ladder.
Carey Park will start heavy favourites in Saturday evenings match, after defeating the previously undefeated Busselton last Saturday, also at Kelly Park.
Harley Sparks has had an outstanding season, and was best on ground in the Panthers stunning win against Busselton, and is one of many players Eaton will need to stop if they are to cause a massive upset.
Eaton led for a half against Collie last Sunday, but were over-run by the home team to the tune of 35 points, with Greg Humphries a standout for the Boomers, but he will need plenty of support if Eaton are to replicate the round nine victory.
If Carey Park win, they will remain second for another week, one game clear of Donnybrook, which maybe two games clear, should Donnybrook lose to South Bunbury on Sunday. Carey Park have one game remaining in round twenty one, when they play Harvey Bulls in Harvey before having the bye in the final round. Should they win both games they will secure a qualifying finals berth and will host the final should South Bunbury defeat Donnybrook on Sunday. If they should lose either match, there is still the possibility the Panthers could finish fourth.
