Collie And Eaton To Do Battle On Sunday

Collie Eagles will host Eaton on Sunday at the Collie Recreation Ground, with both teams looking for the four points in round nineteen of the SWFL Season.

The two teams are separated by less than one percent and both teams have two wins to their name, but for the loser the wooden spoon becomes an issue with three rounds remaining.

Eaton are coming off a loss to Harvey Brunswick Leschenault, while Collie are coming off a 99 point defeat at the hands of Augusta Margaret River, though Collie’s losing score of 11.6 (72) was higher than two of last rounds winning scores.

With plenty of pride on the line, Collie won at home for the first time in over a year at their last home game and will be hoping to replicate that on Sunday, while Eaton who finished sixth last season will fall to last if they lose to Collie.

Jayce Fontana has consistently been Collie’s focal point this season, and has scored goals in all but two matches this season, to have a solid return of 30 goals and will be a player the Eaton backline will need to watch closely.  Collie will in-turn need to keep a close reign of Greg Humphries who has been consistently amongst the best players for Eaton for the whole season.

With fine conditions forecast, there should be no excuses for either team as they look for that elusive third win of the season.
