Collie Claim Victory Over Eaton

Collie have defeated Eaton on Sunday afternoon at Glen Huon Reserve, in round twenty of the Dale Alcock Homes South West Premiership season, and in doing so, won their sixth game of the year.

The Eagles led all day, and like the match earlier in the season, should have won by more, but for poor kicking, the final margin was only twenty eight points.

Wylie Morton and Adam Justice got the visitors off to a perfect start, before Greg Humphries and Scott Tynan both goaled for Eaton to get the home side back within three points, but that would be as close as they would get.

The Eagles kicked six consecutive behinds either side of quarter time, with Christian Mears kicking the first goal of the quarter at the twenty two minute mark.  Veteran Adam Bignell booted another right on half time to give the Eagles an eighteen point lead at half time.

The behinds kept on coming in the third term, but Mat Michael showed his experience kicking two quick goals to extend the margin to a game high twenty six points.   Karl Collard in his 150th match kicked a good goal, but that was immediately answered by Bignell.

Mat Michael and Adam Justice both kicked two goals each in the final term, as did Greg Humphries for Eaton, but the margin was too great and Collie prevailed by 28 points.

Jason Carter played well for Collie along with Zac Pilatti, while Josh Scott and Taj Marshall were amongst the best for Eaton.  The Boomers will play Harvey Bulls in Harvey next Sunday, while Collie also play on Sunday, finishing their season against Busselton.
