Collie Looking To Rise Up The Ladder

Collie Eagles will start their 2026, Dale Alcock Homes South West Premiership Season in Round Two, and are looking to build on the foundations built last season.

The Eagles who finished tenth for three consecutive seasons before finishing ninth last season, are looking to significantly move up the ladder in 2026.

“We have been able to retain the bulk of our team from last season including all of the recruits”, said League Coach Ash Stewart.  “We are looking to be pushing toward finals for the first time since 2020 and are excited by the progression of our young local talent. Our culture and environment are continuing to build towards an exciting year ahead”, he added.

One of those recruits, Luke English had an outstanding season, finishing seventh in the Hawyard Medal, amassing 17 votes.

When asked who would be tough to beat Stewart added, “Bunbury made the prelim last year and appear to have added quality players to their list so will prove hard to beat, along with last years grand finalists”.

“We hope to be the big improvers but Eaton finished 2025 in good form and have recruited well so improvement wouldn’t surprise” Stewart said.

The Eagles start their season in round two against Harvey Bulls, before playing Augusta Margaret River in round three, with the clubs first away match in round four when they play Carey Park under lights at Kelly Park.
