Colts Playing For Pride

Barring an amazing turn of events, the final five is set going into the final round of the Colts competition.  The only way Harvey Brunswick Leschenault can make the final five is if they defeat Augusta Margaret River by 80 points, and South Bunbury get beaten by Busselton by the same margin.

The five games in round seventeen were one-sided for the most part, with Augusta Margaret River downing Carey Park by 79 points.  In perfect conditions, Eaton Boomers and South Bunbury managed just seven goals between them and just one goal after half time, with the two teams to face off in an Elimination final in a fortnight.

On Sunday, Collie Eagles never gave up trying but the Lions proved too strong, winning by 50 points.   Bunbury thrashed Harvey Bulls by 150 points, and were lucky it wasn’t more with the Bulldogs kicking 20 behinds.  Malik Davis kicked seven goals for the Bulldogs, which was not as many as Joshua Wright, who kicked ten goals in Busselton’s 137 point victory over Donnybrook.  Wright was the first Colts player to kick ten goals for the season and went from eighth overall on the goal kicking tally, to second, on the back of his double figure haul.

On Saturday, Busselton will host South Bunbury, the Lions will host the Hawks, while Carey Park will host Donnybrook.

On Sunday, Eaton will host Harvey Bulls, with Bunbury to take on Collie at Payne Park.
