Crucial Clash At Gloucester Park

It may only be round three of the Dale Alcock Homes South West premiership season, but the match at Gloucester Park on Sunday between Augusta Margaret River and Eaton already takes on massive significance.

The Boomers are sixth on the ladder with a win and a loss, while the Hawks are ninth with two losses.  A third loss to the Hawks will see them entrenched in the bottom half of the ladder, while a win will see them join potentially three other teams on one win.  Conversely, a win to Eaton will see them either remain sixth or move into the five based on other results, while a loss to the Hawks will see them in a log jam of teams on one win.

The Boomers had a close victory over Collie in the opening round, and suffered a heart-breaking loss to Dunsborough last Sunday to have two results decided by nine points or less.  The Hawks were very good against Donnybrook for three quarters before the Dons got the better of them in the last term, while South Bunbury did a similar thing last weekend in round two.

Neither team is yet to kick ten goals in a match, which will be a concern for both teams, making this an intriguing contest.
