Round twelve of the Dale Alcock Homes South West, South West Football League season, starts on Saturday at Gloucester Park, with a crucial match between Augsuta Margaret River and South Bunbury.
Both teams had the bye in round eleven, with the Tigers third and Hawks fourth on the ladder going into the contest.
The match is particularly crucial for Augusta Margaret River, who’s percentage is less than half of that of the teams above them on the ladder, and sixty percent lower than fifth placed Donnybrook and sixth placed Harvey Brunswick Leschenault. If either of those sides win in round twelve and the Hawks lose, Augusta Margaret River will drop to fifth, and if both win, the Hawks would drop to sixth. Conversely, should the Hawks win, they will remain a game clear of both sides, and be on equal points with South Bunbury.
The Tigers last match was against Bunbury in attrocious weather at Payne Park, which saw the Tigers fail to score in the second half, while the Hawks took until the final term to get over a plucky Dunsborough in cyclonic winds at the Dunsborough Playing Fields.
The Weather is much more favourable on Saturday with no rain forecast, leaving no excuses for either side.
Head to head, both sides have won five of the last ten contests, however, the Tigers have won the last four. The League match is scheduled to commence at 2.30pm.
