Donnybrook and Bunbury will play at VC Mitchell Park on Sunday, in what is now a crucial contest in the context of the season, in the final game of round nineteen of the SWFL Premiership Season.
The match is also the Peter Betti Cup, which has seen Bunbury win the last four contests, with the Bulldogs winning the last contest at Payne Park by six points.
There is much incentive for both teams to claim the four points with a Donnybrook victory potentially putting the Dons back into second place, if Busselton defeat Carey Park. A Bunbury victory could see them rise above South Bunbury should they fall to Harvey Bulls or stay within two points of the Tigers, with the two teams still to meet in round twenty one.
Donnybrook were soundly beaten in the last round by Carey Park, kicking just three goals for the match, all in the third term, while Bunbury led early, lost the lead and in a pulsating final term, took the lead late against Dunsborough to win by five points.
Both teams have players in good form with Joel Houghton now the dominant forward for Bunbury, while Jeff Smith likewise for Donnybrook. Houghton has kicked sixteen goals in the last three matches to have 50 for the season, while Smith who has 55 goals this year has kicked eleven in the same period.
With fine weather, a big crowd is expected for what promises to be a great match.
Colts 9.45am, Reserves 11.40am, Women’s 1.30pm, League 3.00pm
