Crucial Match On ANZAC Day

Ten years after they last met on ANZAC day, Augusta Margaret River will host Carey Park this Friday, in round four of the Dale Alcock Homes South West, South West Football League season.

The Hawks go into the match with one win over Collie Eagles, with losses to ladder leaders Busselton and a narrow loss to South Bunbury, while Carey Park have two victories over Harvey Bulls and Eaton, after falling just short in the opening round against South Bunbury.

The two sides have shared the last ten encounters, winning five matches each, with the Hawks winning the most recent game by eighteen points.  Augusta Margaret River will be looking to win the match to square the ledger in 2025 with two wins and two losses, while a loss will see them drop from fifth to potentially eighth at the end of the round.

Meanwhile the Panthers will be looking to win their third match of the season, which will consolidate their position in the top three on the ladder.

The Hawks who narrowly lost to South Bunbury in round three will welcome back Captain Jake Rodgers and reliable defender Linc Adams for the contest, after both were unavailable against the Tigers.

The match promises to be a good one, with plenty riding on the outcome, with the game scheduled to start at 3.00pm.
