Danger Game For Bulls In Collie

Collie Eagles will host Harvey Bulls on Sunday afternoon at the Collie Recreation Ground, as part of round thirteen of the SWFL, with Collie looking to atone for their 51 point loss to the Bulls in round two.

Collie are coming off a 98 point thrashing at the hands of South Bunbury last Sunday, while the Bulls are also coming off a loss of their own, at the hands of Harvey Brunswick Leschenault.

The Bulls have been crippled with injury this season and haven’t been able to get their best team on the park, and find themselves with just four wins for the season, and they will be desperate to defeat the Eagles to stay in touch with the top five.

It is no secret that Collie play the Collie Recreation Ground much better than away, and would be looking at this match as one that they can take the four points.  The will need though to improve on last week, where getting clean possessions through the middle of the ground wasn’t easy, and they will need to apply plenty of pressure to the Bulls midfield to do that.

Collie will also need to curb the influence of Brad Holmes, who kicked seven goals in a losing performance last weekend, and if he dominates up forward it will be hard to see Collie kicking a big enough score to win.    Andrew Haydon, Michael Humble and Dylan Marino have also been playing well, and with Harley Bennell returning to the side and the possible inclusion of Sam Lewis as well, the Bulls are starting to build back towards full strength.

Collie’s senior players in Talan Michael, Matt Blackford and Adam Bignell have been playing well, along with Jayce Fontana up forward, and they will need big games on Sunday to help stem the influence of the Bulls key players.
