Danger Game For Tigers At Shark Park?

The big question is whether Dunsborough can pull off a big upset win on Sunday in their round four, Dale Alcock Homes South West, South West Football League clash against South Bunbury at Dunsborough Playing Fields.

The Sharks stunned Donnybrook in round two with a stirring victory by three points, but either side of that have lost to Busselton (89 points) and Eaton (17 points), while South Bunbury are on a twenty two game winning streak, but have only just won both of their games this season, downing Carey Park in the last minute by one point and Augusta Margaret River by seven points.

Dunsborough are yet to beat South Bunbury, with the average winning margin being 76.5 points, with the last outing being a devastating 153 point loss at Hands Memorial Oval.   As an omen, the closest match between the two teams was during the ANZAC day round in 2023, where it took until the last quarter for the Tigers to get control of the match, ultimately winning by 39 points.

The Sharks will be looking to sharpen up some of the fundamentals this week, after giving away some easy goals to the Boomers, which led to four goals from turnovers, which ultimately cost them the match.   Meanwhile the Tigers have had a intermittent start to the season, playing the opening round, a bye in round two, a match in round three against the Hawks before the Easter bye, meaning the defending premiers, although undefeated haven’t been able to gain any momentum.

Local fans will be hoping for another upset win, with the League match to commence at 3.00pm.
