Donnybrook will be looking to rebound against Harvey Brunswick Leschenault on Sunday, when the two teams clash in the final game of round sixteen of the Dale Alcock Homes South West Premiership season, at VC Mitchell Park.
Donnybrook played a great game last Sunday against Busselton, leading at quarter time, half time and three quarter time, but were not able to hold off the challenge of the undefeated Magpies in the final term. The loss dropped the Dons to third on the ladder, elevating South Bunbury, who Donnybrook play in round twenty.
Harvey Brunswick Leschenault are coming off the bye and will be fresh having played only one game in the last three weeks as a result of a club bye and the Nutrien Ag Country Championships. The only downside is the Lions star full forward in Jarrod Humphries is on crutches after break a bone in his leg at the Championships. Donnybrook though, are likely to be without Zac Trigwell who is representing Country Western Australia on Saturday at Optus Stadium.
Donnybrook have a large group of players who are playing high quality football, with Sam Perkusich, Ben Howlett (pictured), Chris Atthowe, Clayton Giblett, Bradman May and Cody Miller all in good form, and will make it difficult for Lions.
The Don’s have had their round two bye, unlike South Bunbury, so a win to the Dons will keep the pressure on the Tigers and the coveted second spot and a home Qualifying Final.
