Dons Cruise To Home Victory

Donnybrook may have started slowly on Saturday at VC Mitchell Park, in their round thirteen fixture with Harvey Brunswick Leschenault, but they would finish with a flurry, to record a 51 point victory at the final siren in front of a very healthy crowd.

On a perfect day for Football, neither team kicked a goal in the first quarter, in fact the scoreline was identical at the other League fixture at Hands Oval at the first break.

The Dons kicked four goals to three in the second quarter to lead by eleven points, but it would be the third quarter which proved all the difference, with the visitors failing to score, as the Dons opened up the lead to 28 points.  The final term would be all Donnybrook as they kicked seven final quarter goals to cruise to victory.

The home team had multiple avenues to goal with nine different goal kickers, while the Lions had six individual goal scorers.  Jacob Kendle, Ben Howlett and Cody Miller were again amongst the best for the home team, who now consolidate their position in the five.  Ty Armitage was the best for the Lions who now languish in ninth place on the ladder.
