Dons Looking To Bounce Back In Women’s Match Saturday

Donnybrook will be looking to bounce back when they play South Bunbury at Hands Oval on Saturday morning, in round three of the Tronox Women’s competition.

The young Dons side who had nine debutants in the first up match against Augusta Margaret River, will play the Tigers who won their opening round match against Dunsborough in the closing minutes, before being held scoreless against Busselton.

Kloe Bassett continued her strong form and has been a great influence on the young Tigers side, along with Alyssa Giles who also played well in the loss to Busselton.   The Dons loss to the Hawks saw Ella Smith lead from the front kicking three goals, and systematically kept the Dons in the contest along with Tally Neil.

The Tigers will be desperate to get the win to get back on track, with their percentage also taking a battering as a result of their loss to Busselton, and a loss to the Dons will see them drop to eighth on the ladder, while the Dons could sneak into the top five with a win, while a loss could see them drop to ninth, giving the contest plenty of incentive even though it is early in the season.

It will be Ladies day at South Bunbury on Saturday, with the Women’s match to be played first, commencing at 11.20am.
