Dons Need To Down Hawks On Saturday

It won’t be the end of the world if Donnybrook don’t defeat Augusta Margaret River on Saturday, but their chances of securing a fifth place on the ladder will hinge on it going forward, when the two teams meet at Gloucester Park.

The Dons hold fifth spot by a game, however they have played one more match than Eaton Boomers and Harvey Bulls who are desperately trying to take back fifth place, a position they have both held at varying stages of the season.

With South Bunbury having the bye, the Hawks with a solid win can finish round fifteen on top of the ladder but nothing is certain in football, and both teams can make a strong case for victory.

The Hawks have winners all across the ground, and the Nutrien Ag Carnival was very successful for Sam Lewis, who was simply outstanding, and he will need to be guarded closely otherwise he could run riot, picking up four goals in the Country Championship Grand Final.

The Carnival was also highly successful for Zac Trigwell of Donnybrook who took two screamers at the Championship, off the back of mark of the year contender the week before at Glen Huon Reserve against Eaton.  Trigwell also kicked four goals in the Country Championship decider and the Hawks will need limit supply to Trigwell and Jeff Smith, who both can score heavily.

Game Times:  Colts 10.15am, Reserves 12.10pm, League 2.10pm
