Donnybrook have easily beaten Harvey Brunswick Leschenault in the Tronox Women’s Elimination Final at Kelly Park on Sunday afternoon, advancing to the first semi final where they will play the Harvey Bulls.
The Dons dominated the contest from start to finish, with the Lions scoring just the one behind, late in the final term.
Courtney Zappara was again a handful for the defence, kicking five goals, including the opening two of the match within six minutes. Zappara would also kick two in the second term, as the margin ballooned out to 49 points.
The Bulls never gave up and did slow the scoring in the second half and restriction Donnybrook to just one goal for the final term, with the Lions having their best quarter of the match.
Sadie Fishlock played well for the Dons, and kicked two goals, while Ella Smith and Zappara were amongst the best.
The Lions were the big improvers in the Women’s competition in season 2025, and it was a sad way for the team to end, finishing fifth in the competition.
Donnybrook will now play Harvey Bulls next Sunday at PC Payne Park in the First Semi Final.
