Dons Thrash Panthers

Donnybrook have boosted their percentage significantly after easily accounting for Carey Park at Kelly Park on Saturday evening, in a match that promised plenty, but sadly for the home team, only had highlights for Donnybrook.

The 92 point margin saw Donnybrook get a 15% boost in their percentage, something they needed after suffering two heavy defeats of their own earlier in the season.

After a relatively close start to the match, where the Dons lead by 13 points at quarter time, the margin grew to twenty eight points at the main break.  The third quarter would see swift ball movement by the visitors who kept Carey Park scoreless, kicking six unanswered goals, to have a 69 point lead at the final change.

A late goal to Zane Verhaaf, almost three quarters after Hayden Yarran kicked their first, was little consolation for the Panthers who were outplayed by the Dons.

Jeff Smith kicked five goals, taking his season tally to 23, while Jacob Kendle, Sean Lynch and Brayden Harris were amongst the best for Donnybrook, who in round twelve will face Collie at VC Mitchell Park.  Carey Park meanwhile will face Bunbury at PC Payne Park, who also suffered a heavy defeat in round eleven.
