Dunsborough’s League team will head to VC Mitchell Park on Sunday afternoon, where they will take on Donnybrook in the round thirteen fixture as part of the Dale Alcock Homes SW Premiership Season.
Donnybrook were Dunsborough’s very first opponent in a historic match in April at the Dunsborough Playing Fields, and despite playing well, the Dons were too powerful, with Cody Miller kicking a goal after the final siren to give the fledgling club a 100 point defeat.
Since that time, Dunsborough have been highly competitive, with two wins and a draw through their first eleven games, and potentially should have won two other matches as well. The Sharks are another team that has had major injuries, and last weeks bye has enabled the team to give some of the players a well earned rest and others to push for selection this weekend.
Donnybrook meanwhile, sit second on the ladder and have been playing great football, with their only losses coming at the hands of South Bunbury and Busselton, with the Tigers the only team to defeat the Dons at home in the first half of the season.
The Dons defeated Eaton last Sunday, with a strong second half seeing the team home by 42 points, with Sam Perkusich, Zac Trigwell, Jeff Smith and Clayton Giblett all playing well.
The battle in the centre of the ground between Pat McGinnity and the Dons Ben Howlett will be great to watch, while the Dons will also need to be wary of Cal Foster, Daniel Atkinson and Chris White who have all been consistently good players for the Sharks.
Colts 9.25am, Reserves 11.20am, Women’s 1.10pm, League 2.40pm
