Dons Win At Home

The Dons prevailed at their newly renovated VC Mitchell Park, with a hard fought seventeen point win over Eaton on Saturday evening, before 874 fans.

In a tight contest, the Boomers took a two point lead into quarter time, before the Dons went into half time leading by a point in a very low scoring contest.

The match opened up slightly in the third term, as the home side led by 12 points, but much work was still needed to be done in the last for the Dons to secure victory.    Sam Perkusich converted after a 50m penalty, and some individual brilliance by Zac Trigwell ended up in the winning goal to Izaak Bedford as the Dons celebrated with their fans.

The Boomers who had plenty of possessions, and led for most of the first half, would be bouyed by the performance despite the loss.

The Dons will travel to Dunsborough in round two, while the Boomers will also travel, as they take on Carey Park at Kelly Park, with both games next Saturday evening.
