Dons Win On The Road

Not only did Donnybrook win their round two clash of the Dale Alcock Homes South West, SWFL League match against Harvey Brunswick Leschenault, the kept the Lions scoreless for a half in doing so.

The Dons started best with Luke Dale, Jeff Smith and Hamish Hutton all kicking goals in the opening stanza to have the visitors up by 20 points at quarter time.

The home team fought back in the second quarter with Jarrod Humphries kicking his second goal of the match within minutes of the quarter starting, and when Brendan Tingey and Ben Musitano goaled in quick succession the game came alive, but the Lions marched further ahead with goals to Pierce Feguson and Shannon Sabourne, to have the home team up by 11 points at half time.

Amazingly, the Lions would not score again, with the Dons kicking the last five goals of the match to win by twenty points.

Bradman May continued his good form winning many possessions, while Reid Kinnimont tried hard all day for the Lions.

After two away games to start 2022, Donnybrook will be at home in round three against Eaton Boomers in what should be a great clash, while the Lions will be at home again, this time facing the Augusta Margaret River who showed Carey Park no mercy on Saturday.
