Dunsborough Start New Era With A Win

The inaugural matches at the Dunsborough Playing Fields were a big success, culminating in the Colts match between Dunsborough and Bunbury.

Earlier in the day, the Dunsborough Reserves were highly competitive against the reigning premiers, while in the Women’s match, no-one expected Dunsborough to score against the might of Bunbury, but they not only scored, the new team without a competitive match, kicked a goal, which brought up a massive roar from the big crowd.

The Colts fixture was a high class contest, and despite the low scoring the skill and pace of the game was exceptional.  The biggest margin at any break was four points, and in an exciting final quarter the ball would be buried deep in Bunbury’s forward line in the final two minutes, but they were unable to get a clear kick at goal, with the home team having a memorable win on debut.

The Dunsborough Colts will now face the reigning premiers, Carey Park, on Sunday at the Dunsborough Playing Fields, while Bunbury will open the round when they host Busselton on Saturday.
