Eagles Looking For Change Of Luck With Road Trip

Collie Eagles will be looking for a change of fortunes when they make the longest road trip in the SWFL, when they take on Augusta Margaret River on Sunday at Gloucester Park, in round eleven of the Dale Alcock Homes South West premiership season.

Last week the Eagles were well beaten by Busselton, but they are no lone ranger in that regard, and they did show some good signs yet again, with Luke English, Paul Rinder and Jackson Bruce again playing well.

They will play the Hawks who are currently fourth with six wins, and will be hoping to straighten up their goal kicking which has been anything but straight in the last three weeks.   In the last three games the Hawks have kicked thirty three goals and forty nine behinds for a kicking efficiency of 40%, while Collie have stayed in several games due to their accuracy having kicked twenty goals, eight behinds in the last two weeks.

The Hawks will be hard to beat though at home, with Jed Spence, Max Spyvee and Mitch Payne all in good form along with captain Jake Rodgers.  The team will also be looking to win for their former Premiership Captain, Linc Adams who plays his last home game on Sunday before moving to the North of the State with work.

The Hawks won the opening round encounter by 46 points, and haven’t lost to the Eagles since the second round of 2018, something the Eagles will be looking to change on Sunday.

The League match commences at 2.10pm with coverage via Live Scoring on PlayHQ.
