Collie Eagles will be looking to win for one of their most decorated players on Sunday afternoon, when the Eagles host Harvey Brunswick Leschenault in the final game of round nine of the SWFL.
Matt Blackford will play his 250th League game on Sunday, with the tough defender a mainstay of the Collie team for the last seventeen seasons.
The Eagles who caused an upset last Sunday in downing Eaton at Glen Huon Reserve, will look to replicate the fast start in last weeks match against the Lions, who have one player in their team who can terrorise opposition defences without any trouble – Jarrod Humphries. Humphries who last weekend kicked his 250th Career goal in the SWFL, has kicked 27 goals for the season, including 12 in the last two weeks, making him a player the Eagles must stop if they are to win back to back matches.
Jayce Fontana who played a milestone game of his own last week was best on ground, and has kicked six goals in his last two games, and will be a focal point for the Eagles on Sunday. Captain, Talan Michael and Ben Higgs have also played well in recent weeks and will need plenty of attention from the Lions. The Lions who just got over an injury depleted Dunsborough, have started to show some good form of their own with Jack Fletcher outstanding in the narrow win over the Sharks, with Blake Offer also playing well.
An Eagles victory could see the Collie side move to ninth if the Bulls defeat the Sharks and the Lions could move to seventh if the Sharks beat the Bulls, in some key games to be played on Sunday.
