Eagles To Take On Hawks In Collie

In the battle of the birds, the Collie Eagles will host the high flying Augusta Margaret River Hawks on Sunday, at the Collie Recreation Ground.

Collie despite being on the bottom have shown some great signs in recent weeks, and took the match right up to Bunbury last Sunday in wet conditions, and are more than capable of doing it again on Sunday.

The Hawks who are in the middle of a stretch of away games, defeated Eaton Boomers by 38 points last Sunday, and will be looking to record a big win against Collie to boost their percentage above that of South Bunbury, to take spot on the ladder.

The Hawks have won their last four matches in succession and will be looking to make this number five before facing top four teams, South Bunbury and Bunbury in the final rounds.  Matt Bannister kicked four goals last Sunday and will be looking to add to his tally, while Jacob Payne, Simon Moore and Steven Payne continue to play well, week in week out.

Captain Lincoln Adams will revel in the conditions on Sunday and is likely to thwart many Collie attacks, and is regularly in the best players for the Hawks.  Kayden Pola for the Eagles played potentially his best game for the League side last Sunday and will be looking to add to his goal kicking tally, while Adam Bignell and Harry Massara are also playing well, and will need to continue that form to stop the many options the Hawks have at their disposal.

GAME TIMES:  Colts 10.15am, Reserves 12.10pm, League 2.10pm.
