Fast Starting Boomers Remain Undefeated

After two wins away from home, Donnybrook were looking to win at home in their round three clash of the Dale Alcock Homes South West, SWFL Premiership season against Eaton Boomers, who like Donnybrook were going into the match, undefeated.

Less than two hours later, Donnybrook would trudge off a rain-soaked VC Mitchell Park, registering just one goal, narrowly avoiding their lowest ever score of 1.3.9, set way back in 1963.

Eaton bounced out of the blocks quickly, kicking the only three goals of the opening term, while things looked ominous for the Dons at half time, trailing by 21 points, in very wet conditions.  Eaton would kick the only two goals of the third quarter, as the heavens opened at the start of the last, with neither team kicking a goal in the final term.

Jacob Dragovich got a stack of possessions, while Riley Pokler played a great game.  Donnybrook Captain Cody Miller played a great game, which saw the ball spend most of its time in his defensive half, and the damage on the scoreboard could have been much worse if not for his defensive play.

It was Donnybrooks 1150th match in the SWFL , one they would rather forget.  Eaton meanwhile, move to second on the ladder, one of four teams on two wins, but they have the bye after Easter, with their next fixture in round five against Augusta Margaret River, while Donnybrook in round four will play at home, also against the Hawks.
