Grand Final Re-Match Opens Round Two

South Bunbury will host Augusta Margaret River in a Grand Final re-match, as the opening game in Round Two of the Dale Alcock Homes South West Premiership Season.

When the two teams faced off in October last year in perfect weather, it was four goals to one at the three quarter time, before the Hawks kicked four last quarter goals.   Perfect weather is again forecast for Saturday and another tough low scoring match is on the cards.

South Bunbury had a comfortable win over Collie last Saturday evening, while Busselton defeated Augusta Margaret River leaving the Hawks with the prospect of starting their title defence with two losses to start the season, should South Bunbury be victorious.

Blake Piggott and Cole Sawyer were amongst the best against Collie, while despite only kicking ten goals, the Tigers had many avenues to goal, with seven goal kickers.  Meanwhile, in a fast paced match at Gloucester Park, Tom Shanahan started life as a Hawk in fine style and along with two time Hayward Medalist, Simon Moore and Steven Payne were amongst the best players for the Hawks, who will need those three and many others to play well if they are to beat South Bunbury on Saturday commencing at 2.10pm.
